OUR PRESIDENT

Vaucluse Gear is designed by Brice Sokolowski in the heart of the Arizona valley. He focuses on creating functional ultralight gear that improves your backpacking experience.
Brice has been backpacking for over 20 years, having travelled across North America, Europe, and Asia. One day, tired of being uncomfortable with a sweaty back, Brice took to pen and paper, sketching solution to maximize ventilation without adding additional weight. He prototyped his first frame using a 3D printer and quickly saw the potential. Brice now works full-time on gear development that offers adventures better airflow and performance.

ABOUT THE NAME

Vaucluse Backpack Ventilation Gear is named after the Vaucluse region in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur in southeast France. Yes, we are an American company with a French name! Our founder, Brice Sokolowski, enjoyed many hot (and sweaty) summers in the region during his childhood.

The Vaucluse is a crown jewel of French nature and is famous for its landscapes, lavender fields, honey, and wine. The region is rife with rugged mountain terrain and breathtaking views and enjoys more than 300 days of sun each year - with all that sun comes a lot of sweat! Enjoying the Vaucluse is a year-round activity, so we wanted to enjoy the region more by improving a backpack's airflow and ventilation - which we now can!

A portion of the profit from every sale is donated to bee farming, and trail upkeep organizations in the Vaucluse region and across the United States.

All Vaucluse products are designed and manufactured in the USA.
