20 Specifications of the Backpack Ventilation Frame

Brice here, president of Vaucluse Gear, sharing with you 20 specifications of our Ultralight Backpack Ventilation Frame:

1. It is lightweight at 3.3 ounces (0.21-lb. or 94 grams).

2. It attaches in seconds to backpacks sized 18 liters all the way up to 55 liters and more:

Here's what it looks like on… a small Osprey® Daylite 18-liter backpack.

On a typical daypack (this is a North Face).

On an Osprey® 22-liter Talon.

On a Deuter 32-liter backpack.

On a Gregory Zulu 40-liter backpack.

And here’s what the frame looks like on a Kelty Asher 55-liter backpack.

This frame can attach to any backpack and, as your pack gets larger, the frame is definitely going to give you that air flow – right up here – without hindering the straps around your waist.

3. The dimensions of the frame are 8.5 inches wide and 15.5 inches from top to bottom.

4. The frame provides a 0.75 inch ventilation gap between you and your backpack.

5. It's designed for consistent air flow from top to bottom.

6. Regardless of the weight of your backpack, this frame can support over 220 pounds without collapsing. No matter the hiking, this airflow gap isn't going anywhere,

7. The frame is made of a soft material so it will feel comfortable on your back, lay smooth and flat, and won’t rub into your back. It’s flexible. It moves with you as you're hiking, whether you're hiking for an hour, two hours, three hours or more.

8. This is designed to flex and move, and feel comfortable on your back while also (see next)...

9. Having zero impact on your spine. See this nice dip? That way your spine isn’t touched by the frame. Since it flexes, it doesn't touch your back while you're hiking. It is always moving with you, always supporting that pack weight, and making sure that you've got air flow as well.

10. On your hike, the frame can also be easily pulled apart if you don't need it. Just fold it up in your backpack and keep it inside when you don't need it. Then when you do, just take it out and put it back together in about 30 seconds, and you've got your Ventilation Frame back on your backpack!

11. These loops are designed so that your backpack strap goes around it, and you can quickly attach it using these connectors. It only takes a few seconds to get our Ventilation Frame on or off your backpack.

12. Some backpack companies try to implement ventilation systems through a mesh system, a curved frame, or adding aluminum or some type of metal. Then the backpack takes on some weird shape, so you lose the basic shape of your backpack. And you're probably adding one if not two or three more pounds to the weight on your backpack.

Our Ventilation Frame doesn't use any of these. It's a very simple, clean design that doesn’t use metal so, at a fifth of a pound, there’s no match in the weight department. Plus it’s not absorbing sweat and making your backpack stink. This is ideal for ultra-lighters, or anyone who would prefer enjoying airflow on their back instead of adding weight to their backpack.

13. You can adjust the frame's height. There are three different settings (let’s call them Low, Medium, and High). You can custom adjust where the frame sits on your back, depending on how you like it.

14. The frame locks in position through these connectors. For additional support (while keeping weight light) we provide Velcro so you can attach the frame to the ends and even to the connectors. If you want additional support, this is the lightest solution to keep the frame locked in as tightly as you want. It's not required, but customers have said the Velcro helps maintain position without adding weight to the design.

15. The frame is unisex. It's perfect for men’s or women’s backpacks!

16. The material used to make these frames is the same as what’s used for your milk jug containers.

17. Meaning… this frame does not contain any BPA, phthalates, heavy metals or allergens. Or anything that causes cancer. It's completely safe.

18. It's even recyclable

19. Best of all, it is designed and manufactured right here in our great United States of America.

20. There are multiple uses for the Vaucluse Ultralight Backpack Frame even after you take it off. Use it as a pillow, as a seat cushion, even as a dry rack (I'm making another video that outlines the many ways that you can use this frame). It’s not just a “one purpose” outdoors tool, you can use it for many different jobs.

That's why this Ultralight Backpack Frame is so amazing. I hope you will order one from VaucluseGear.com.

Here's to sweating less.
